This Kijoshu is made with Junmai sake instead of brewing water. It uses Hiroshima Prefecture's unique "Hiroshima LeG-Sou" yeast, and has a mellow, natural sweetness and a fresh, refreshing acidity from freshly squeezed sake. With a low alcohol content of 13-14%, it pairs well with Japanese cuisine as well as meat dishes.

Founded in 1899, the brewery is located on the island of Kurahashijima in Ondocho, Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Its flagship brand is "Hanahato," and a new brand, "Agehanomai," launched in 2021. The brewery is also famous for being the first in Japan to commercialize Kijoshu in 1974.
