Yoichi Motoki has had an impressive career in the alcoholic beverage industry for many years, including as a distillation engineer at the Arran Distillery, a Scotch whisky distillery, and as a distillery construction consultant. He has also been involved in the development of Kinobi, which is said to be the origin of Japanese gin and created a culture of domestically produced flavored gin using botanicals from Kyoto, and Nozawa Onsen Distillery Gin, which was released in 2022 and quickly won multiple gold medals at international tasting competitions. Finally, in 2024, he established his own distillery, Motoki Joken, in Nagatocho, Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto City.
This product is a standard product from this distillery, and mainly uses botanicals such as Kyoto cypress, cherry blossom leaves, Yame green tea, and Onomichi lemons, with 80% of the botanicals being Japanese ingredients. It expresses the delicate herbal feeling of the season as it gradually changes from cherry blossoms to fresh green leaves.
