Ron Barcelo is a Spanish rum producer in the Dominican Republic, a Caribbean island nation. D. Julian Barcelo immigrated to the Dominican Republic from Mallorca in 1929 and founded the company the following year with the goal of producing the country's number one rum. Now in its third generation, the company is in business. In 2000, with investment from Spanish winemaker Marqués de Vargas and spirits manufacturer MG, the company established Barcelo Internacional and, with the establishment of a new distillery, began focusing on exports. Made from the finest sugarcane, the rum is aged in bourbon barrels. It is the only rum in the Dominican Republic made from fermented sugarcane juice, rather than molasses.
This product is a blend of rum aged for 12 years in American oak barrels. It has a very smooth taste, a rich, rich finish, and a clean, crisp finish that you won't tire of drinking.
