This Ryukyu Awamori distillery in Motobu Town, Okinawa Prefecture was founded in 1946. Known as "Yamakawa of Aged Awamori," it is particularly focused on aging sake. Since the brewery's founding, aged sake has been aged in the brewery for three generations, with sake aged for 20, 30, 40, 50, and even 100 years.
Our brewery's age indication is that when 10-year-old sake and 8-year-old sake are blended through aging, the sake is released from the brewery as 10-year-old sake when the latter 8-year-old sake becomes 10 years old.
