This brewery, located in Niimi City in northern Okayama Prefecture, was founded in 1913. The founder, Jyugoro Miyata, emigrated to the United States and made his fortune on a strawberry farm (known as Dutch strawberries), before returning to Japan and starting a sake brewery, hence the strawberry in the company logo.
