This barley shochu is made from Toyonohoshi, a new variety of barley grown in Oita Prefecture, and Oita yeast, a shochu yeast unique to Oita Prefecture made from kabosu, a fruit that is a specialty of Oita Prefecture. Like the regular Kanehachi, it has a robust flavor with a fragrant barley aroma and a hint of citrus.
