Made from domestically grown sweet potatoes and brewed with water filtered through virgin forests, this authentic shochu has a refreshing taste with a rich, umami flavor.

In 1958, with the hope that "shochu will contribute to the promotion of the island's special products and agriculture," the company acquired Kurino Shuzo and moved to Yakushima. It changed its name to Mitake Shuzo Co., Ltd. and was founded for the second time, becoming Yakushima's leading shochu brewery.
