Yayoi Shochu is the oldest brewery of brown sugar shochu, which is only permitted to be produced in the Amami Islands. "Mankoi" is a matured liquor made from their flagship brand, "Yayoi," aged in oak barrels for three years.
It has a sweet aroma and a smooth taste with a strong brown sugar flavor, making it a popular product among women. Many people choose this shochu to make a lemon sour, and it is also recommended on the rocks or with soda.

・Brown sugar shochu "Mankoi" 40ml
・20ml lemon juice
・Syrup (oligosaccharide) 20ml *adjust as needed ・Carbonated water 40-80ml
・Squeeze 1/8 of a lemon into a glass

This brewery was founded in 1922 (Taisho 11) in Amami City, Kagoshima Prefecture. Its flagship brand is "Yayoi," named after the month the brewery was founded, March. The first batch is brewed in earthenware jars, and after atmospheric distillation, which retains many of the flavor components from the ingredients, the brewery produces brown sugar shochu, which is then stored in oak barrels.
