This is Big Peat's Christmas Edition 2022, a blend of four Islay malts (Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila, and Port Ellen). It is bottled at cask strength without added water and is non-chill filtered.
The aroma is of burnt caramel, a hint of Hebridean air, and an intriguing hint of peat smoke. It perfectly captures the best of Islay, with notes of bonfire ash and earth balancing the sweetness of roasted marshmallows. Despite the short winter days, the finish is satisfyingly long, allowing the aromas and flavors to become even more present.
