CAOL ILA 12 Year Old Whisky (Official Import)

Founded in 1846, the Caol Ila Distillery on Islay was remodeled into a modern distillery in 1974 and is the largest distillery on Islay in terms of production capacity. Previously, most of its whiskey was used for blending with brands like Johnnie Walker, but it became a subsidiary of Diageo in 1997 and has since garnered acclaim with the release of its Hidden Malt series in 2002. This product is a 12-year-old malt, the distillery's signature product. It has a light taste with a peaty flavor typical of Islay, but with a subtle smokiness. It's also recommended as an introduction to Islay malts.
