Gordon & MacPhail, the oldest bottler in the world, was founded in 1895 and manages the maturation process itself, filling its own barrels with distilled raw spirits, aging them at each distillery, and bottling them in its own warehouses.
This product is part of the "Distillery Label" series, which is officially approved by the distilleries and is based on the long and deep relationships between the distilleries. It is a single malt made from raw spirit from Mortlach Distillery (a long-established distillery founded in 1823 and the key malt for Johnnie Walker) that has been aged for 15 years in sherry casks.
(Tasting notes)
Nose: Malty and fresh aroma. Subtle sherry notes continue, layered with super sweet toffee, licorice and orange marmalade. Taste: Reminiscent of chocolate cake topped with cherries. The initial sweetness transforms into blackcurrant jam, maraschino cherries and creamy vanilla. Freshly peeled oranges further enhance the freshness. Finish: Wonderfully round. Candied citrus and oak enhance the malt nuances for a long time.
