This single cask whisky is made from raw spirit distilled in 2019 at Kanosuke Distillery, aged for five years in first-fill Spanish oak PX (Pedro Ximenez) sherry butts, and bottled at cask strength without added water. *A joint bottle made by three companies: Kinko Sake from Kagoshima, Shinanoya from Tokyo, and KIMURA from Hiroshima. (Tasting notes) Nose: Blackcurrant and raspberry jam, polished antique furniture, Baco Armagnac, black fig, spices of nutmeg and clove, camphor, with hints of cigar box, dried orange, almond and licorice. Taste: Moist and smooth with rich tannins. Honey raisins, prunes, Tanba black beans, black figs, and walnuts in a yokan (jelly bean jelly). Orange butter sauce. Finish: A pleasant aftertaste with crisp tannins and restrained sweetness, cassis and prune notes, gradually changing into a subdued bitterness.
