Hunter Laing was founded in 2013 by Stewart Laing, former co-president of leading bottler Douglas Laing, along with his two sons. The high-quality bottles, carefully selected from the company's vast stock, are highly regarded around the world.

This product, "Scarabas," is named after a remote Islay region. The distillery and age of the blended whiskeys are not disclosed. It is a batch strength whiskey that was aged in refill bourbon casks and virgin American oak casks and bottled without adding water.

It has a powerful taste with aromas of liquorice, toffee and vanilla, along with the smoky notes of seaside bonfires and Islay peat, and a long, lingering finish with a gentle ash aroma.
