Whisky_Canada / WHISTLEPIG ESTATE OAK RYE 15 Year Old

This is one of Whistle Pig's longest-aged straight rye whiskeys. It is further aged in custom-made Vermont Estate oak barrels, charred and toasted to our own specifications using wood from the Vermont Estate (the distillery's grounds). Oak harvested on-site has denser annual rings than the standard American oak barrels used for regular whiskey, and the increased exposure to these rings during aging adds a rich flavor. We carefully selected the whiskey from our stockpile that is worthy of 15 years of aging.
You'll be captivated by the wonderful complexity that comes from long aging, the spiciness unique to rye, oak nuances and fresh citrus flavors.

Nose: Caramel, vanilla, and oak aromas with rich flavors of allspice and tobacco. Hints of burnt orange.
Taste: Warm and creamy, with notes of butterscotch, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, leather and dark chocolate.
Finish: A warm, long finish with aromas of oak, caramel, and the spices characteristic of rye whiskey.
