Producer/Brewery ( Kagoshima Prefecture / Wakashio Brewery (Sengamejo, GLOW) )

Wakashio Shuzo, located in Shibushi City, Kagoshima Prefecture, was established in 1968 through the collaboration of five local breweries. The brewery owns two breweries on its premises: Shisangura, which combines modern technology to produce a consistent, high-quality regular sake, and Sengokugura, which produces shochu with a traditional, handcrafted flavor. The brewery is particularly focused on product development, building on its accumulated expertise in koji and shochu production by proactively incorporating new ideas from different fields, such as global distilled spirits production methods and approaches to flavor and aroma, with the aim of shaping the future of shochu. In recent years, the brewery has catapulted itself into the spotlight after its GLOW EP05 won the Grand Prize in the sweet potato shochu category at the Liquor Store's Choice Shochu Awards for three consecutive years.
