Ikehara Brewery produces the distinctive Awamori "Shirayuri," which is made by distilling in a direct-fire copper pot. This product is a special limited edition version of "Shirayuri," made with the traditional black koji "Inui bacteria" that was used before the war and roughly filtered.
It has a taste and aroma that has been passed down since ancient times, and a dry, rich, smoky, and powerful flavor that further pursues the individuality of Shirayuri.
It also won three awards at the globally prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2021: Best Shochu, Double Gold, and Best of Class.
