骨董好きの先代が宴席で甕壺に酒を入れて振舞ったことをきっかけに、40年近く前に発売され、高い人気を誇る当蔵のロングセラー商品。こだわりの甕には、地元産こしいぶき・五百万石を60%精米し醸した純米吟醸レベルの酒が入っていますので、宴席や贈答商品としてもおすすめです。

商品名「甕覗（かめのぞき）」とは、藍染の淡い青色を指す色の名前。藍染めは藍甕に浸けることを繰り返し濃い色に染めていくのに対し、甕覗は白い布を僅かに浸した程度に薄く染めるため、甕をほんの少し覗いただけという意味に由来。そのため、この甕覗の甕は淡い青色をしています。
岐阜県多治見産の甕に、熱い酒を入れラップをすることで、膨張した後冷めるにつれ逆にラップがへこみ、密閉性が高くなります。さらに二重にラップをしてあるため、逆さにしても溢れることはなく、贈り物にも対応しています。

Producer/Brewery ( Shizuoka Prefecture / Sugii Sake Brewery (Suginishiki) )

This brewery is located in Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and was founded in 1838. Until recently, they invited sake brewers from various regions of Japan, such as Noto Toji, Hida Toji, and Nanbu Toji, to help them make sake. However, since 2000, the company's representative, Sugii, has served as Toji, and the brewery has switched to making sake mainly with year-round employees.

With the desire to create sake that realizes the deep flavor that can be brewed from rice through the natural processes, we are particularly committed to traditional brewing methods that utilize the action of natural microorganisms, such as "junmai sake" and "kimoto/yamahai," as well as "aging."
