ブランド名「W」（ダブリュー）とは、渡辺酒造店（Watanabe）、世界（World）、笑い（Warai）という３つの意味を表し、「蓬莱」とは別に特約店限定で発売されるシリーズ。
この商品は、「三郷錦」を50%精米し醸した、純米大吟醸クラスの純米、無濾過生原酒です。
酒造好適米「三郷錦」は、「美山錦」と「山田錦」を交配させ、2002年に秋田県で生まれた品種。高級酒の原料米「山田錦」は極晩生でもあり秋田県での栽培が難しかったことから開発されたものの、やはり栽培が難しく、希少品種と言われる酒米です。

なめらかな桃のような香り、優しい、米に由来する甘味をベースにふんわりとしたやわらかい口当たりが楽しい味わいです。

Founded in 1870 (Meiji 3), this brewery is located in Hida City, Gifu Prefecture. Its flagship brand is "Horai." Utilizing the bounty of Hida's natural environment, the brewery works hard to brew sake based on chemistry, physics, and philosophy, in an environment filled with smiles, with Yoshimoto Kogyo comedy acts played in the brewing tanks.
