Wild Grape Liqueur / Kodakara Gassan Wild Grape

This liqueur is made from selected wild grapes that have been growing wild on Mt. Gassan, one of the Dewa Sanzan mountains. It's a Japanese superfruit. Only high-sugar grapes are carefully selected, accounting for 54% of the sugar content, so there's almost no astringency to be found. Because the ingredients are rare and expensive, it's slightly more expensive than other liqueurs, but the harmony of sourness and sweetness that fills your mouth is well worth the price. It's best enjoyed chilled on the rocks, but it's also fun to freeze it a little and make it into a sorbet.
