明治40年に発見され、大正時代から昭和初期までは鹿児島で一般に作られていた、在来品種のさつまいも｢蔓無源氏｣（つるなしげんぢ）は、2003年頃に復活させたものの、栽培する農家は1軒しかなく、また品種改良されておらず栽培も難しい品種です。
この芋は、甘味が強くねっとりした特徴を持ち、また蒸留後、じっくりとタンクで2～3年程度熟成させてから発売されることから、焼酎｢蔓無源氏｣は、甘味と、濃くまろやかな味わいが特徴です。

この「蔓無源氏 34度」は、3年ぶりの限定発売。度数が高い分、より濃厚な風味を楽しめます。

Producer/Brewery ( Kagoshima Prefecture / Kokubu Brewery (Yasuda, Flamingo Orange) )

In 1986, six companies agreed to the unification of manufacturing licenses and established the Kokubu Shuzo Cooperative in Kokubu City, Kagoshima Prefecture (now Kokubu, Kirishima City), built a brewery, and began producing sweet potato shochu. In 1997, they became the first in the industry to produce sweet potato shochu made from 100% sweet potatoes without using rice koji. In 2000, they began producing shochu using yellow koji and aged koji, and have continued to make tireless efforts to improve quality, including working to revive the Tsurunashi Genji sweet potato, which was cultivated during the Taisho era.
