Koei Kiku, whose corporate philosophy is to "continue to produce exciting new sake that has never been seen before," is releasing three barrel-aged sakes at the same time. This time, they used Madeira, Pedro Ximenez, and Oloroso barrels. They are taking on various challenges, such as sakes brewed specifically to match the characteristics of the barrels, and sakes that are selected and blended from sakes that have been aged for a long time. Each of the three types has very different flavor characteristics, so you can enjoy comparing them.
This product is aged in dry Oloroso sherry casks. The first year (2020) of the "Tasogare Orange Pasteurized (2.5 years ice-aged)" liquor was aged in these Oloroso casks for approximately 1.5 years. It has a raisin and caramel-like aroma, a sweetness that is not too tannic, and a refreshing finish with a smoky finish, making it an enjoyable drink to accompany meals.
