「五郎 紅芋仕込み」は、鹿児島県産「紅芋」を使い2016年から仕込みを開始。常圧で蒸留後、毎年甕壺に貯蔵し少しづつブレンドしながら熟成させています。2025年は米高騰によりこの仕込ができず、2026年版では古酒のみ（！）を瓶詰めしています。
そのため、紅芋仕込みならではの爽やかなキレとともに、例年に比べまろやかさを増し、ストレートでも穏やかな芋の風格が感じられます。

This shochu brewery was founded in 1908 and is located on Shimokoshikijima Island in Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture. The product name "Soshu" comes from the fact that the island where the brewery is located is also called "Soshu."
