This product is a Robert Parker 5-star RM (= Récoltant-Manipulant, a small-scale Champagne producer that grows its own grapes and produces wine that also sells its products), and is produced by Jules Lassalle, a maison that has catapulted itself into the spotlight after receiving the highest score of 93 points in Wine Spectator magazine.
This product is made from 100% hand-picked Chardonnay grapes. 4,000 kg of juice is carefully extracted using a traditional wooden press, and only the first pressing is used. It is then aged in barrels for 8 to 10 months and then bottled for 10 years.
(Tasting Notes) The robe is a brilliant pale yellow. The richness comes from well-ripened Chardonnay. The bouquet is of white fruits (pear and apple). Accents such as orange peel further enhance the rich aroma. The wine is fleshy and well-balanced. The finish is round, with a long, sweet aftertaste.
