This product is a Robert Parker 5-star RM (= Récoltant-Manipulant, a small-scale Champagne producer that grows its own grapes and produces wine that also sells its products), and is produced by Jules Lassalle, a maison that has catapulted itself into the spotlight after receiving the highest score of 93 points in Wine Spectator magazine.
This product is made from hand-picked Pinot Noir (70%), Chardonnay (15%), and Meunier (15%) grapes. 4,000 kg of juice is carefully pressed in a traditional wooden press, and only the first pressings are used. Based on the 2019 harvest, 40% of the 2018 reserve wine is blended, and the wine is bottle-aged for 3-4 years.
(Tasting Notes) The pale rose color and delicate bubbles are striking. The ripe Pinot Noir offers a hint of licorice, while the light red fruit aromas of strawberry and cherry are gentle and sensual. The wine's minerality, pleasant astringency, and pure nuances from the wine's structure create a rich, elegant finish. 2-4% Coteaux Champenois grapes from the old Champs Richard vineyards in Chigny-les-Roses are added.
