This small-batch sweet potato shochu is handmade from ingredients such as sweet potatoes and rice for koji, with the entire shochu-making process carried out by hand. It's easy to drink, yet still has the powerful sweetness of sweet potatoes. The island and ocean depicted on the label are a view from the brewery where dew from the pond is brewed. It's a representative example of Amakusa Shuzo today.

This shochu brewery was founded in 1899 in Amakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture. While it is said that there are not many breweries that make shochu by hand, starting from koji, they are committed to making everything by hand, including koji making, and they also produce the rice and potatoes that are used as ingredients in-house, demonstrating a strong commitment to "handmade x agriculture."
