Collection: Nagasaki Prefecture / Shigeie Sake Brewery (Yokoyama Chingu)

Founded in 1924, this shochu and sake brewery is located in Iki City, Nagasaki Prefecture. While sake brewing was forced to halt between 1990 and 2017, current master brewer Yokoyama Taizo trained at a fellow brewery for five years before searching for the ideal water source for sake brewing on Iki Island, and finally succeeded in building a brewery in 2018, marking the return of a sake brewery to Iki Island for the first time in 30 years. At the 2024 SAKE COMPETITION 2024, Yokoyama Junmai Daiginjo GOLD was selected as one of the top 10% of sakes entered, winning its first SILVER award, and the quality of its sake has been improving rapidly.
