Collection: Kagoshima Prefecture/Oishi Sake Brewery (Tsurumi)

This shochu brewery was founded in 1899 (Meiji 32) in Akune City, Kagoshima Prefecture, and began brewing sake in the same year that the law prohibiting private alcohol production came into effect.

Preserving the "Tsurumi" brand from the founder, Chojiro, the brewery employs a total of about 10 people, including the fifth-generation brewer, a former engineer, dedicated research staff, and experienced staff who are responsible for the delicate handwork of selecting sweet potatoes, cutting them, bottling them, and labeling them. Although production is small, they produce a wide variety of products, each with its own unique ingredients and manufacturing methods.
